About me…
I’m a photographer based in Cardiff, specialising in sport, music, and live events. My journey into photography began in 2020 as a natural extension of my career in video editing. It started close to home, photographing my local rugby team in Aberaeron, and quickly grew into a passion for capturing moments of energy, emotion, and culture through the lens.
Since then, I’ve worked with organisations such as the URDD and the Utilita Arena Cardiff, documenting events that celebrate both performance and community. Some artists I have photographed are Jason Dderulo, Bryan Adams, McFly and P!nk. Whether on the pitch, on stage, or in the crowd, my focus is on storytelling and authenticity — freezing moments that reflect the atmosphere and spirit of the occasion.
My work has been recognised in the industry, including:
Rugby Photographer of the Year 2024 (The Rugby Journal Magazine)
Portrait Category shortlist 2023
Landscape Category Shortlist 2025
Photography, for me, is about more than just the image — it’s about capturing culture, people, and emotion in their most honest form.

I’m Rhys Hafod, a Cardiff-based Video Editor with over 13 years’ experience across broadcast television, documentaries, and online content. I specialise in crafting engaging stories through editing, with a strong background in both long-form programming and short-form digital media.
My career began in live broadcasting, working behind the scenes at events like the Royal Welsh Show and Quik Pro surfing championships. That fast-paced environment gave me a cool head under pressure and invaluable experience collaborating with directors, presenters, and technical crews.
Since then, I’ve worked extensively in post-production with Gorilla Group, editing programmes for S4C, BBC, and Channel 4, as well as creating social media content that has reached millions of viewers. My portfolio ranges from BAFTA-nominated children’s programming for S4C’s CYW channel, to youth magazine shows like TAG and STWNSH, through to high-profile documentaries and BBC docuseries such as Hot Cakes.
Highlights of my work include:
Lead editor on children’s and youth programming for S4C, including CYW, TAG, and SADWRN.
Social content for HANSH (S4C’s digital channel), achieving over a million views in a year.
Documentaries for S4C, including Efengylwyr - Oes Atgyfodiad?, Jess Davies – Protestwyr neu Droseddwyr?, and STRIP.
Offline editor on Hot Cakes for BBC Three.
Post-production co-ordinator and editor for online coverage of the Royal Welsh Show.
I’m highly skilled in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Avid Media Composer, and I bring both creativity and technical expertise to every project. Above all, I’m passionate about storytelling and thrive when collaborating with clients and production teams to bring ideas to life.
When I’m not editing, you’ll usually find me with a camera in hand, exploring photography, or enjoying music and sport.
